I tried to get a good shot of this guy for about 15 minutes. The visibility was pretty average, and he just kept drifting away in the surge making it hard to get a shot from in front. This shot was taken off Byron Bay, Australia.

These photos from the Eastern Shovelnose Ray (Aptychotrema rostrata) were taken in Nelson Bay, Australia with my Canon G9 in the Canon housing. I find their eyes are quite fascinating. You can see the difference from day to night when they open their eyes up. Watch closely!
