Tasmanian Scuba Diving Club

The Tasmanian SCUBA Diving Club (TSDC) was formed in the mid 60’S and is one of Tasmania’s biggest and most active dive clubs. The club is based in Hobart and meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 7:30pm at The Queens Head Cafe Bar, 400 Elizabeth St, North Hobart. The TSDC is the only club in Tasmania to have its own dive boat, a purpose built 5.5m aluminium cuddy cab (recently completed) which can take up to 5 divers. The club also has a number of tanks for hire, a portable tank-filling compressor which is used while visiting more isolated dive locations, DAN oxygen resuscitation equipment and a BBQ.

The club primarily dives in the southeast of Tasmania making the most of world class diving on the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas. Dives are also regularly conducted to Bruny Island, Betsey Island (including the wreck graveyard), Storm Bay and Frederick Henry Bay. The club also dives many locations along the east coast including Maria Island, Freycinet Peninsula, Schouten Island and Bicheno. Annual trips to the northeast, central north and northwest coasts of Tasmania are also organised. The TSDC aims to cater for all diving abilities and interests and new members are always welcome.

Narcosis is very real! Narcosis is very real!
This event took place a number of years ago while diving with a few mates on a charter in Tassie. We had planned to dive the famous kelp forests in EagleHawk Bay, Tasmania and a wall dive recommended by the skipper/guide.
