A "Wary" octopus

Taken on a local dive site called 3 Mile Reef, out from Hillary's Boat Harbour. Not that far from Perth. Camera used was an Olympus C-750UZ.

Banded Seaperch (Hypoplectrodes nigroruber)

Taken with an Olympus C750 - UZ using inbuilt flash. Located in a mere 11 metres of water on a reef frequently visited by Sorrento Dive Shop, called Aladdin's Cave. (North of Hillary's Boat Harbour, WA.)

Northern Frogfish

Taken in Exmouth on a day dive from the Navy Pier. The frogfish can hardly be seen, as it inconspicuously blends into it's surroundings. Sea & Sea MX5II camera with close-up lens and YS-20A strobe.

Western Blue Devil

A Western Blue Devil at Roe Reef off the coast at Scarborough, Western Australia in a depth of 12.4 metres.

Harlequin Fish (Othos dentex)

A very inquisitive and fairly placid fish. Seemed to be content to peer at me as keenly as I peered at it! Taken with an Olympus C-750UZ and in built flash. Location was off of Sorrento Quay, WA. Photocomp January '05 - Open

Masked Stingaree

Taken from Mindarie, Perth. North of Grouper Gulley. This one was quite content to strike a pose! Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom with internal flash.

Mates

Quite a usual sight in the waters of the Marmion Marine Reserve, Western Australia. McCulloch's scalyfin and Western blue devil "hanging out" together.

Jellyfish with Trailing Tentacles

Taken ascending from Scarborough Ledge (off Scarborough near Perth, WA) on a morning dive. Have no idea what the species is, however, the tentacles trailed for quite a distance! Captured with an Olympus UZ C-750. Depth was a mere 5 metres. Found the subject quite interesting.
