The Mola-Mola (meaning 'millstone' in Latin) is the most common of 3 species of the Ocean Sunfish. Although bizarre-looking and disproportionate, these awesome creatures glide through the oceans with grace and ease. They have a habit of lying atop the ocean surface in a sunbathing position, and hence their name.

The average adult Mola grows up to 1.8m in length and 2.4m between tips of the dorsal and anal fin. Typically weighing about 1 ton, they are the world' s heaviest bony fish.
